Indian Passport

Indian Passport

It allows one to travel through one country to another or with in the country.It also act as proof of your Citizenship. Ministry of External Affairs ( Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division ) has the ability to issue the passport   with in the eligible cities .  In India there are 37  locations across the country and in abroad there are 162 locations of Indian missions .

  • Types of Passports  :

  1. Regular.
  2. Diplomatic.
  3. Official.

Regular        : These are deep blue or black in color .For traveling and Business purposes these are delivered.

Diplomatic : These are Maroon in color. Delivered to high Government Officials .

Official          :  These are White in color. For Individuals representing Indian Government Official Business.

  • Physical Appearance of Passport :

In the center of Front cover Emblem of India is emblazoned with deep blue or black cover. Above the Emblem words Hindi: ‘Passport’ and  English: ‘Passport’ are inscribed and below the Emblem Hindi: “Republic of India ” and English: ‘Republic of India’ are inscribed . There are 36 pages in standard passport which can be extended up to 60 pages .

  • Identity of Passport Holder :

The front and last page of a Indian Passport are laminated to prevent further Modifications.

  • Front page of Passport includes :

  1. Passport  holder  Photograph .
  2. Signature of the Passport Holder.
  3. Type :    P( Stands for Personal ).
  4. Contrary Code : India.
  5. Passport number.
  6. Surname.
  7. Given names.
  8. Nationality (Indian).
  9. SexDate of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY).
  10. Birth Place.
  11. Issue Place.
  12. Issue Date (DD/MM/YYYY)Expiry Date (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • End cover of Passport includes :

  1. Father Name.
  2. Mother  Name .
  3. Spouse Name.
  4. Address.
  5. Old passport number with date and place of issue.
  6. File number.

        Note on Passport :

It allows the person  to visit freely without any Hindrance and provide all the assistance and protection if required by orders of President of the Republic of India  :

“ These are to request and require in the name of the President of the Republic of India all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance, and to afford him or her, every assistance and protection of which he or she may stand in need.By order of the President of the Republic of India “

  • Fees :
  • INR1500 -   While applying for new one or Renewal of (36 Pages) which is valid up to 10 years .
  • INR2000 –    While applying for new one  or Renewal of (60 Pages) which is valid up to 10 years .
  • INR600 – While applying for new one for Minor(below 15 years of Age) which is valid up to 5 years or till the minor gets to 18 .
  • INR2500 – While applying for Duplicate one  (36 Pages) if the Passport is, Damaged, Lost or Stolen .
  • INR3000 – While applying for Duplicate  one (60Pages) if the Passport is, Damaged, Lost or Stolen .
Moreover Indian Passports can be issued from outside the India  so , for which Fees may Vary.
 Requirements while Applying for  :
  1.  Fresh Passport   :
  •  Address Proof : Ration Card/ Bank Pass Book/ Company letter (Ltd.Co.) / Voter’s Identity card/  License / Graduation Certificates .
  •  Date of Birth Proof :         Birth Certificate/Board Certificates
  •  No Objection Certificate : Required in case of Employees of Govt. / Public Sector / Statutory body .

 

        2.    Renewal of Passport :
  • Address Proof : Ration Card/ Bank Pass Book/ Company letter (Ltd.Co.) / Voter’s Identity card/  License / Graduation Certificates .
  •  Expired Passport
  • No Objection Certificate : Required in case of Employees of Govt. / Public Sector / Statutory body

 

      3.     Passport  for Minors :

  • Address Proof : Ration Card/ Bank Pass Book/ Company letter (Ltd.Co.) / Voter’s Identity card/  License / Graduation Certificates .
  • Date of Birth Proof :  Birth Certificate/ Board Certificates.
  • Additional Papers : Guardian Passport .
  • Affidavit :  As per the Format of Passport Office .

Supplement Forms :

The following forms are also acceptable If :

  1. Form A : It is acceptable if the bearer does not have Birth Certificate (Form should be Notary Attested ).
  2. Form B: It is acceptable if the bearer is a Government Employee.
  3. Form D: It is acceptable if the bearer has changed his name since last passport .
  4. Form E: It is acceptable if the bearer is Divorced since last Passport .
  5. Form G: It is acceptable if the Guardian is applying for minors passport .
